Double Duty — Struts and Frets: Kris Joseph

Double Duty

This week and next week are quite a slog for me. Having opened Whispering Pines last weekend, I have now started rehearsals for Oliver! As part of the National Arts Centre’s acting company. Thus I am spending my days in the world of England after the 1834 Poor Law Amendment, and my evenings in the world of East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

It’s making for very long days, but I’ve known this was going to happen since May and have been trying to prepare for it as best I can. Staying well-rested is a priority; if I can take care of that, the urge to break into “Food, Glorious Food” halfway through act two of Whispering Pines should be manageable. As of November 13, when Pines closes, I’m sure I’ll be grateful to be back with a single focus… at least, until Oliver! Opens on December 6 and we go into rehearsals for Creation.

Feast or famine, they say. So true.
